One of the highlights of my recent trip to Mabul island, Malaysia was Jalan Jalan to small village beside SMART resort.
I did it every morning before diving schedule start. Very luckily, I been Indonesia more then 10 years and my bahasa skill is enough for chatting with Malaysian. So maybe this is little differ from simple tourist observing.
People are very kind and like talk. Even they invite me to breakfast (pisang goreng)! It was not only some kind of sentiment but it was also plenty of Kodak moments (Photographic Opportunities) for me. So leave for a while from “pampering in luxury resort” and try yourself “Jalan Jalan” when you’re on this beautiful island.

You don’t speak bahasa? don’t worry. simply greeting like “Selamat Pagi” will be enough. :)
